Ingredients
Method
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions with a pinch of salt and cook over medium-low heat for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until deeply golden and caramelized. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, poppy seeds, minced garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Set aside.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them connected. Place the bottom half in a baking dish and spread evenly with mayonnaise.
- Layer half of the turkey ham over the rolls, followed by Swiss cheese, then the remaining ham. Spread honey mustard evenly and top with caramelized onions.
- Place the top half of the rolls over the sliders and gently press down. Brush generously with the poppy-butter topping.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly golden. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
- Remove from the oven, rest for a few minutes, then slice into individual sliders and serve warm.
Notes
Caramelized onions add deep flavor—don’t rush this step. The poppy-butter topping is optional but highly recommended for extra richness. Customize by swapping cheeses or adding roasted peppers if desired.
