Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions. Prepare waffle batter and tint with pink gel food coloring until evenly colored.
- Cook 5 waffles in the waffle iron until lightly crisp on the outside and tender inside. Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely.
- Reserve 3/4 cup whipped topping and place it in a piping bag fitted with a 1M tip for white swirls.
- Divide the remaining whipped topping evenly into five bowls. Tint each bowl with different gel color combinations, gently folding to keep the mixture fluffy.
- Place one waffle on a cake stand. Spread an even layer of whipped topping on top. Repeat layering waffles and whipped topping until all waffles are stacked.
- Transfer each colored whipped topping into its own piping bag fitted with a 1M tip.
- Decorate the top waffle with alternating swirls of white and colored whipped topping around the edges and center.
- Serve immediately for best texture and appearance.
Notes
This cake is best enjoyed shortly after assembly. Decorate just before serving for the fluffiest whipped topping. Colors can be customized to match any celebration theme.
