Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s fully heated before baking.
- Prepare the cake batter by combining the cake mix with the ingredients listed on the box. Mix until smooth, being careful not to overmix.
- Grease a round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper to ensure easy release.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before frosting.
- Spread frosting evenly over the cooled cake using a spoon or offset spatula. Tint frosting with food coloring if desired.
- Decorate with sprinkles, edible glitter, or Capricorn-themed toppers. Slice and serve.
