  • 1.5 lb frozen waffle fries
  • 2 Tbsp ranch seasoning mix divided
Chicken
  • 1.5 lb frozen fried chicken tenders can substitute with baked or grilled chicken
  • 0.25 cup hot sauce use a mild brand or adjust for spice level
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter melted
Toppings
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 0.25 cup crumbled blue cheese optional
  • 1 medium carrot shredded (about ¼ cup)
  • 0.5 stalk celery thinly sliced (about ¼ cup)
  • 2 Tbsp fresh chives chopped
  • ranch dressing for drizzling

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prep and Preheat
    Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Toss frozen waffle fries with 1 tablespoon of ranch seasoning and spread on a baking sheet. Toss chicken tenders with the remaining seasoning and place on a separate sheet.
  2. Step 2: Bake the Chicken and Fries
    Bake fries on the top rack and chicken on the bottom rack for 25–27 minutes, flipping and switching trays halfway through, until crispy and golden.
  3. Step 3: Make the Buffalo Sauce
    In a large bowl, whisk together hot sauce and melted butter to create the Buffalo sauce.
  4. Step 4: Toss and Layer
    Reduce oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and toss with Buffalo sauce. Layer fries on a baking sheet, top with chicken, and sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
  5. Step 5: Melt the Cheese
    Bake for 5–7 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Step 6: Add Fresh Toppings
    Top with crumbled blue cheese, shredded carrots, celery, and chives. Drizzle with ranch dressing and serve immediately.

Notes

To make it milder, use a mild hot sauce or mix with extra butter and a drizzle of honey. For a lighter option, use baked or grilled chicken and oven fries. Try pepper jack cheese for extra spice or mozzarella for a creamy texture. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven to keep them crispy.
